Transform Fear into Power: Weekly Inspiration!

We will be sharing our favourites with you on our @almaexplore account weekly in the hope that they might inspire you in the same way they do us ! 🎁🤗💪🥳🥰🤩😘


If fear is an emotion that shows up for you often, why not take 5 minutes right now to think about how you respond to it 😱 🤔 Run away? Try to brush whatever you are afraid of under the carpet, basically ignoring it? Or maybe the fear gives you extra motivation to get out there and achieve whatever is on the other side of it?


Fear is often seen as a negative emotion, however we believe that there are no negative emotions. It's all about how you react to your emotions that matters!


Fear historically exists to keep us safe. As cave men and women, fear was a necessary tool to keep us on our toes when dangerous animals 🦁 🐅 🐺 or enemy tribes 🛡🏹🗡 were coming round the corner.


Neuroscience today shows us that our reptilian brain (oldest part of our 🧠) is wired to go into "protect" mode to keep us safe, the problem is that the dangers we face today are thankfully for the most part less real (at least physically) however our brain perceives an important client meeting, an annual review, a break-up, you name it, as a threat and so we start to release the stress hormone 🧬 cortisol which leads to a neurological reaction👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ that you might have heard of FIGHT, FLIGHT or FREEZE!🥷🏃‍♂️🥶


All of these reactions to fear, although potentially useful when facing a tiger, are not necessarily helpful in our modern world. What if instead you could acknowledge your fear, name it, even inquire of yourself what you need to navigate the situation to the best of your ability to then move beyond the fear and focus on the real topic which is whatever stands on the other side of that fear 💪 What do you think? 🤔
